20th Wednesday
No rain today but still not like estival (summery). Lots of mushrooms are popping up at the moment see these below.
Whenever we take the track in the forest nearest to our home, we pass this strange looking piece of wood , and it reminds us of a vulture. I prefer the light at the moment its much easier to take photographs but its not what everyone wants in the summer time.......they want more light or more sunshine!

19th Mardi
There is very little blue sky to light the forest this morning but the light is good for taking pictures. We turn off and take a track normally used by the guys clad in lycra (the cyclists), but they are not around mid week so its quiet. Some of the trees are very old and have strange marks which often look like faces. The French word for face is visage.........link here old middle english word

17th Dimanche
Sunday we watch out for joggers and people riding bikes in the forest. If someone is heading our way we put our dog back on the lead just in case she wants to follow them., some cyclists are afraid of big dogs.
Normally we walk as far as the crossroads at the top (see picture above). The track straight ahead takes you to the road which skirts around the top of the forest. The track off to the right dips down and back up again like a roller coaster, its darker along there but quite interesting. I think that we can describe the tracks in the forest as chemin.

16th August
Our walk today is rather dark and grey although the highlight is to see a small female deer. The French word for doe is biche.
The weather is disappointing for August it is more like a day in October. Some leaves are turning and this bracken makes a colourful display.
15th August
We take a track in the forest that soon may be harder to get to since some of the roads may be blocked soon. There are beehives down this track and the sunshine had the bees flying around like a busy airport. The French word for beehive is ruche. It is quite dark and shady at the begining of our walk but shafts of sunshine pick out tiny details like this green mossy stick.
Further along this track there are some large puddles, so I photograph them and then later twiddle around with the colours, I like the reflections of the trees in the puddles.
